10th May 2007

The Forest of Dean Motor Club are holding a charity forum/auction night at the Cinderford Rugby Club, in the heart of the Forest of Dean, on Thursday June 7th at 7.45pm, admission is £5.00 on the door all in aid of David Williamson’s Memorial Fund.

David was tragically killed on whilst competing in the sport he loved, on the 2007 Get Connected Wyedean Rally. The idea of the charity night was the brainchild of regular competitors Paul Willetts and Adrian Williams.

The Panel of guest’s for the forum include Phil Collins, Phil Pugh, Guy Wilkes,Nicky Grist, Mark Higgins, Nik Elsmore, Damian Cole, Ian Alsop and Suzuki girl’s Lorna Smith and Joanne Oakey who will all be doing a question and answer session.

Paul said neither of us knew David, but that doesn’t matter to us, he was a fellow competitor so we have decided to do something to help his family with their loss. Getting the panel together was easy as they all agreed straight away, once they knew the reasons behind it.

The auction items are still coming in but we have had some great donations from Honda F1, Prodrive, Suzuki, Team Halfords BTCC and Mitsubishi UK. I’m sure by the 7th we will have plenty to offer and raise a substantial amount of money for a very good cause.
