Group B Mazda RX7 Evolution unveiling at Autosport Show 2012

Silverstone Autosport now rebranded as Group B Motorsport will unveil the new, never seen before Group B “Evolution” Mazda RX7 Rally Car on the 12^th January 2012 at Autosports International.

Having purchased the original MRE Group B 1985 Car in 2009, and realising the unique Rotary powered cars potential, the team decided to build the car that Mazda never did build, an Evolution of the Group B Car.

The car has been engineered by the experienced Pete Ammonds formerly of M Sport and Ralliart fame, and assembled from an original MRE shell sourced from a collector in Belgium. The Evolution RX7 features a custom made roll cage, new modern design rear axle, sequential gearbox and a raft of further improvements to make the car the ultimate specification RX7 and quicker than any other rear wheel drive rally car.

Group B Motorsport are now taking orders for Group B and Evolution RX7 Rally Cars, which provide an alternative to MK2 Escorts or Mata 400’s in classic rallies. The team will showcase the car by competing in the UK on the new Classic GroupB car Club Rally in May.
