HRCR Night Rally Championship Calendar 2006
January 28/29 Carpetbagger Rally Bournemouth CC
Graham Dance, 402 Wimborne Rd East, Ferndown, Dorset , BH22 9NB

grahamdance@hotmail.co.uk
At least 180 miles of East Devon lanes, where no road is wider than 3 metres and no straight longer than 200 metres. Pre-plot, usually with a tulip roadbook. Virtually no unsurfaced mileage.

March 4/5 Gremlin Rally Brecon MC
Denis Cardell, Pen yr Heol Cottage, Cathedine, Brecon, Powys, LD3 7SZ
deniscardell@lineone.net
Possibly your last chance to use Epynt on a night event, expect 80 miles or so on the Ranges together with 30 miles of forestry and some tricky lanes. Pre-plot, with marked maps.

April 22/23 East Anglian Classic Chelmsford MC
Jacqui Leech, Tel: 01376 348948
leechmotorsport@btopenworld.com http://www.chelmsfordmc.co.uk/
The Night Championship event runs over the full weekend, with airfield tests and regularities on Saturday. A supper halt leads to a half-night road rally then more tests on Sunday morning. Our friends in the Clubmans Championship join us for the Saturday run.

June 10/11 G & P Memorial Rally Garstang & Preston MC
Steve Kenyon, 5 Meadowfield, Fulwood, Preston, Lancs, PR2 9RE
www.gpmc.co.uk
Mostly tarmac event that makes the most of the short nights at this time of year. Expect the Trough of Bowland and other Lancashire favourites. Simple plot and bash, largely using map references.

August 5/6 Devils Own Classic Rally Kirkby Lonsdale MC
Bob Milloy, Laburnum Cottage, Hincaster, Milnthorpe, Cumbria, LA7 7ND
milloybob@yahoo.co.uk
Another classic name from the past for this ‘full-weekender’. Varied tests on Saturday afternoon, a tight half-night road section in Westmorland (run by Kevin Savage on tulips) then more tests on Sunday. With several crews from Ireland and Scotland this is fast becoming the successor to the late ‘Lumies’.

September 2/3 Twilight Rally Ecurie Cymraeg
James Chappelle, Pentwyn Farm, Garthbrengy, Brecon, Powys, LD3 9TW
jamesjchappelle@aol.com
An afternoon start with a run through Caerwent (to road rally rules), a halt, a second loop of Caerwent, a supper halt, then a night event around Monmouth and Brecon lanes. Something a little different !

Sept 30 / Oct 1 Hexham Historic Rally Hexham MC
Ed Graham, 5 West View, Prudhoe, Northumberland, NE42 6JQ
media@edg.ndo.co.uk Tel: 01661 833167
A mid-evening start to this brisk Northumberland event with a very healthy historic following. Largely tarmac with a few short whites before a pie and peas supper just after midnight. Plot and bash with simpler navigation for novices.

October 14/15 Harvest Rally South Hams MC
Andy Ballantyne, 75 Westonfields, Totnes, Devon, TQ9 5QX
andy.ballantyne@btopenworld.com
A compact tarmac event around South Devon with simple pre-plot navigation on which historic crews always do well. Very friendly atmosphere with a ‘holiday’ feel to it.

November 18/19 Ilfracombe Rally North Devon MC
Derek Drayton, 18 Hawley Manor, The Orchards, Barnstaple, Devon, EX32 8AP
derek.d@ddrayton.fsnet.co.uk
Another compact Devon event but this time on the north coast and after leaves and mud have reminded us that it’s late autumn. Highly experienced local team. High banks, fords, and more.

December 9/10 Welsh Retro Rally Clwb Modwr Cymru
Denis Cardell, Pen yr Heol Cottage, Cathedine, Brecon, Powys, LD3 7SZ
deniscardell@lineone.net
This year’s Retro is likely to see Denis moving away from Epynt to a more traditional lanes-based format but nobody knows Map 160 and its neighbours like the Old Wizard. Likely to use premarked maps with a few tricky whites, farmyards and fords. A great way to end the season.
