Regulations for the Cumbria-based 2007 Pendragon Stages on Sunday 26 August will be out at the end of June with the event once again sponsored by WA Developments. The rally will provide 65 competitive asphalt miles across stages in Warcop and Lowther Park with spaces for 100 cars. There are plans currently being made to hold a start and finish ramp in Penrith town centre, which would be new for this year, and to hold a media day around a week before the event. The 20-strong organising committee work year round to pull the rally together, with around 200 marshals brought in on the day from all over the country to help make the event a success. Clerk of the Course, Tim Foster, said: “We hope to make the Pendragon Stages bigger and better for 2007. We already have the backing of WA Developments again, which is fantastic and we are grateful to Andrew Tinkler and his business for that. We are also pleased to be running the rally through Warcop thanks to the MoD and in Lowther Park thanks to Robert Benson and the Lowther family. “We would like to hold a new town centre start and finish in Penrith this year but details have yet to be finalised on this but it would be great for the local people, for the competitors and for the town. “The event is always popular with competitors and with only 100 entries available we urge people to get their entry forms in as soon as possible when the regs come out in June.”
The Pendragon Stages is a round of several English and Scottish regional stage rally championships.
