20th September 2008 - Well it's now 2008 and the countdown to the 2008 Plains Rally supported by SJR Motorsport has well and truly started. 2008 marks the 40th anniversary of the launch of the Mk1 Escort, to celebrate this occasion the Plains Rally will have a special award for the first Mk1 Escort home.

The 2008 Plains Rally will be based on the tried and tested formula of 2008, using the spectator friendly stage at Mick Jones' woodyard and then some classic mid-Wales forest stages.
