Rally Marketing Mid Wales Stages Sunday 24th June

The Rally Marketing Mid Wales Stages ran on Sunday 24^th June. The weather in general was dry but with the odd heavy rain shower which made the stages slippery in many places with a number of crews being caught out in these locations.

The event started with long run out from Newtown to Hafren Stages followed by Nant Rhys, Myherin, Sweet Lamb and Tarenig. This making it a very compact rally with servicing at Sweet Lamb Rally complex.

Congratulations go to Martyn & Richard Lewis on winning Class 1 on the event and also in the Championship. Huw Jones came second in Class 1 both on the event and also in the Championship.

Huw Jeffries and Avarina Connor who were competing for the first time in their new Subaru Impreza had a trouble free run to score maximum points possible in their class and extend their class lead in the Championship.

In class 4 Dave Brick has closed up on Class Leader Keith Parry who had not entered this event. Charlie Jackson had and excellent run in the Ford Fiesta Cosworth and scoring maximum Championship points in the class. Charlie is also currently tying for second place in the under 25 Drivers Award.

The next round of the Millers Oils Welsh Clubmans Forest Rally Championship is the Bill Gwynne Rallyschool & Motorsport Coracle Stages at Sweet Lamb Rally Complex on Sunday 29^th July.
